Custom embroidery in Wylie, Texas
Threads on Design is a working embroidery shop in Wylie, Texas. We stitch salon capes, salon aprons and logo work for hair salons, barbershops and independent stylists — across Collin and Dallas counties, and by mail anywhere in the United States.
It is run by two stylists. The machine is a fifteen-needle BAi, the thread is on the shelf behind it, and every photograph on this site is our own work on our own table. Nothing here is a catalogue picture and nothing is drop-shipped from another state.
What we make
Cutting capes and bib aprons in bleach-proof, chemical-resistant fabric, embroidered with your salon's name, a stylist's name, an Instagram handle or your own logo. You design it on the site and watch the lettering land on the garment before you pay.

Salons we work with nearby
Most of our local orders come from Wylie, Murphy, Sachse, Lavon, Rockwall, Garland, Plano, Allen, McKinney and Richardson, and plenty more from across Dallas and Fort Worth. Distance makes no difference to the price — shipping is $10 flat and free once an order passes $75, wherever you are. What being close by does mean is a real person you can call rather than a support form.
Why embroidery and not a print
Every letter we put on a garment is satin stitch — thread laid down by the needle and raised off the cloth. A heat press or a vinyl print looks much the same in a photograph, then cracks and lifts after a few dozen washes. Salon fabric gets washed hard and gets bleach on it, and thread survives that where a print does not.
On the fabric itself: we tested it rather than repeating a supplier's claim. 6A with 20 volume, and bleach with 20 volume, both left to process for thirty minutes, then washed and dried. Nothing bleached and nothing deposited — not on the cape, not on the apron, not on the clothes underneath — and the embroidery was untouched.
How an order runs
You design it on the site. Within 12 hours we email you a photo-real mockup showing your lettering exactly as it will come off the machine. You then have 24 hours to change the text, the font, the thread colour or the size — changes are free and there is no limit on them. Your order is stitched in one to three days after that, then four to seven days in the mail.
